Catering
Three generations of Persian cooking on Lonsdale Avenue — packed into warming trays, carried up your driveway, and set out on your table. We cater 20 to 200 people across the North Shore.
What we cater
Most of our catering is for people we already know — someone's daughter is getting married, someone's office has a Thursday all-hands, someone's father has passed and forty relatives are arriving at the house by two o'clock. We have done all three in the same week. Here is the kind of work we take on.
-
Weddings and engagements
Full dinner service for 80 to 200, usually at a hall in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, or Burnaby. Two or three kebabs, two khoreshts, a rice station with tahdig cut to order, and the herb and cheese platters guests expect before anything else arrives.
-
Mehmoonis at home
Family gatherings of 20 to 60 in a living room and a kitchen that was not built for it. We bring chafing dishes and our own tongs, set up on whatever surface you have, and take the empty trays away with us.
-
Memorials and sofreh
Halva, dates, sheer berenj, and tea for the third and seventh day, plus a full meal if the family is hosting. We can be at your door within 24 hours when there has been a death — call and say so, and we move you to the front.
-
Office lunches
Drop-off boxes and platters for 20 to 120, delivered between 11:15 and 12:00 to Lower Lonsdale, Harbourside, Park Royal, or downtown. Labelled trays, vegetarian portions counted separately, compostable plates and cutlery if you want them.
Platter packages by headcount
Every package is priced per person and includes saffron basmati rice, our herb and feta platter with barbari bread, Shirazi salad, and mast-o-khiar. Rice is cooked the long way — soaked, parboiled, drained, steamed with butter and saffron — so it arrives separate and dry, not sticky. Tahdig is sold by the tray and listed below.
-
Sofreh — $26 per person
Minimum 20 guests. One kebab of your choice (koobideh, joojeh, or barg), rice, salad, yogurt, herbs and bread. The straightforward office-lunch package and the one we send out most often.
-
Mehmooni — $34 per person
Minimum 30 guests. Two kebabs plus one khoresht — ghormeh sabzi, gheymeh, or fesenjan — with grilled tomatoes, torshi, and a second salad. Enough variety that nobody eats around a plate.
-
Golestan — $48 per person
Minimum 60 guests. Three kebabs, two khoreshts, baghali polo with lamb shank, a full appetiser table with kashk-e bademjan and mast-o-musir, and dessert: saffron rice pudding and Persian tea.
-
Vegetarian and vegan
Counted as separate portions at the same per-person price. Adas polo with dates and raisins, kashk-e bademjan made with a cashew cream instead of whey, mirza ghasemi, and grilled vegetable skewers on the same charcoal.
- Tahdig tray (serves 12)
- $38
- Extra khoresht (serves 15)
- $110
- Baklava and dates platter
- $4.50 per person
- Tea service with samovar
- $3 per person
Drop-off or full service
Two ways to do this. Pick the one that matches how much you want to be thinking about food on the day.
Drop-off
We deliver in disposable foil trays with sterno-lit chafing racks, set them on your table, show one person how the burners work, and leave. Food holds hot for about two and a half hours. You serve, you plate, you recycle the trays. Delivery is $45 within North and West Vancouver, $75 over the bridge. There is nothing to return.
Full service
We arrive two hours before service with staff, china, glassware, linen, and chafing dishes. Servers work the buffet line, cut tahdig at the table, pour tea, clear plates, and pack down. Staffing is $42 per server per hour with a four-hour minimum; we send one server per 25 guests, plus a lead for parties over 80.
Rentals
We keep our own white china, water glasses, and ivory linen, priced at $6.50 per guest for a full cover. Anything beyond that — chairs, long tables, tea glasses in quantity, a second samovar — we book through a rental house in Norgate and add it to your invoice at cost plus 10 percent for the handling.
We had ninety people in a hall with one working outlet and they never once made it my problem. The rice came out the way my mother made it, which I did not expect from a caterer.

Lead times, deposits, and where we deliver
The kebab grill runs all day for the restaurant, so catering has to be planned around it. The earlier you call, the more we can do.
- Office lunches, 20–50
- 4 days' notice
- Home parties, 20–80
- 10 days' notice
- Weddings, 80–200
- 6 weeks' notice
- Memorial service
- 24 hours, call us
- Deposit to hold a date

- 5 days before
Deposits are refundable up to two weeks out for events over 80 people, and up to 72 hours out for anything smaller. The balance is due on the day, by e-transfer or card. Final headcount can go up after the five-day mark but not down — once we have bought the lamb, we have bought the lamb.
Delivery area
No charge for setup within North Vancouver and West Vancouver as far as Horseshoe Bay. We cross the bridge for downtown, Kitsilano, Burnaby, and Richmond at the $75 rate. Anything past Coquitlam or up to Squamish, call and we will work out a number — we have done both, and it depends on the hall.
Request a quote
Tell us the date, the headcount, and roughly what kind of gathering it is. We will come back within one business day with a written estimate and a menu you can change. If you would rather just talk it through, call the restaurant between 10am and 4pm and ask for Nasrin or Reza.
Or write directly to hello@example.com, or call (604) 555-0147.
Not sure which package fits
Come in on a weekday afternoon and taste the kebabs before you commit. We will sit with you, work out portions for your headcount, and write it down on paper.
